Instructions

  1. 1
Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs: loosen with a knife at one corner, grip firmly with paper towels and pull away.
  2. 2
Mix the dry rub: paprika powder, garlic, onion, sugar, salt, cayenne, pepper.
  3. 3
Melt cannabutter over low heat, let cool. Brush onto the back of the ribs.
  4. 4
Generously rub dry rub on both sides — don't hold back. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  5. 5
Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) convection. Wrap ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
  6. 6
Cook for 2.5 hours. Every 45 minutes, briefly open the foil and spray with apple juice.
  7. 7
Open foil, generously brush with cannabis BBQ sauce. Broil at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes until sauce bubbles and darkens.
  8. 8
Let rest for 5 minutes, then cut into portions between the bones.

Pro Tips

  • Only the BBQ sauce contains cannabis — the cannabutter in the dry rub adds flavor but has minimal active cannabinoids left after 2.5 hours of cooking.
  • 3-2-1 method for beginners: 3 hours foiled, 2 hours unwrapped, 1 hour with sauce. Results in perfect fall-off-the-bone texture.
  • No grill? Oven + 5 minutes broil function at the end also creates perfect caramelized crust.
