Instructions

  1. 1
Mix sauce: Whisk gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, and garlic powder in the cold broth.
  2. 2
Bring sauce to a boil in a wide pan or shallow pot. Add tteok.
  3. 3
Simmer over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring regularly. The sauce reduces and becomes thick — tteok becomes soft and absorbs the sauce.
  4. 4
Add fish cake strips and halved boiled eggs. Simmer for another 3 minutes.
  5. 5
Stir in scallions. Turn off heat.
  6. 6
Stir in regular sesame oil. Drizzle cannabis sesame oil cold as a final touch.
  7. 7
Serve immediately — tteok hardens again as it cools. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Pro Tips

  • Tteok is available frozen or fresh at any Korean supermarket. Thaw frozen ones beforehand.
  • Always add cannabis sesame oil after cooking — gochujang sauce gets very hot, which would destroy THC.
  • For a milder version: half gochujang, half tomato paste — unorthodox but works for chili wimps.
  • Rose Tteokbokki: Add cream to the sauce makes it creamy pink — Instagram trend.
