Instructions
-
1Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking sheet and line with parchment paper.
-
2Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in eggs one at a time.
-
3Sift flour and baking powder together, fold in.
-
4Divide dough into thirds: spread 2/3 onto the baking sheet. Mix cocoa and milk into the remaining third, place on top of the light layer, and create a marbled pattern with a fork.
-
5Drain sour cherries well, distribute evenly over the dough. Press in lightly.
-
6Bake 25–30 minutes. Let cool completely.
-
7Pudding: Heat milk with sugar, stir in pudding powder, cook until smooth. Cool until room temperature.
-
8Cream soft butter and cannabis butter together. Stir in room-temperature pudding by the spoonful.
-
9Spread buttercream evenly over the cake. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
10Melt chocolate couverture with coconut fat. Pour over the buttercream, smooth with a spatula.
-
11Before slicing, let it set completely — at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Pro Tips
- Drain sour cherries very well and pat dry — moisture makes the buttercream runny.
- Add cannabis butter to the buttercream, not to the dough — this allows for more precise and reliable dosing.
- The wave pattern comes from marbling the layers — authentic Danube Wave takes patience when decorating.
