Instructions
-
1Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Wait 5 minutes until it foams.
-
2Mix flour + sugar + salt. Work in cannabis butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
-
3Knead to a smooth dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
-
4Filling: Melt brown sugar + cannabis butter + syrup + cinnamon + vanilla in a pot. Simmer for 5 minutes until it pulls/threads.
-
5Divide dough into 16 balls. Bake very thin in a waffle iron (Pizzelle iron or Belgian-style).
-
6Slice waffles horizontally immediately after baking — they must still be hot/soft!
-
7Spread caramel filling on one half, place other half on top.
-
8Cool on a rack. Over time the caramel sets perfectly.
Pro Tips
- Stroopwafels MUST be sliced immediately after baking — after 30 seconds they're too firm.
- Cannabis butter twice: once in dough + once in filling = even distribution.
- The Dutch trick: Place stroopwafel on hot tea → caramel warms up.
